Tell us a bit about yourself?

I’m originally from Scotland but grew up in England and have been now living in Australia permanently for just over 10 years. I love to spend my time outside of work exploring new beaches around Sydney with my dog.

Can you share a bit about your career background and what led you to this role?

My background is very varied having worked in roles ranging from customer service, through to recruitment, as well as labour intensive jobs.

Upon taking a career break from recruitment, I began working for Huntley + Co, where I initially started as an offsider on the trucks, eventually moving into the role as a Team Leader after valuable experience gained. Fast forward a couple of years of growing and working on the warehouse side of the business, the opportunity arose to combine both my skills in logistics and knowledge of the business in this new role as Logistics Coordinator.

What’s a personal hobby or interest you’re passionate about?

Outside of work, something that I am passionate about is music and live events. I spend quite a bit of time going to gigs and sporting events on weekends and my love for Aussie sport has been growing year on year while down under. You can catch me either cheering on my teams or playing sports most weekends.

What is your favourite aspect of working in the styling industry?

My favourite aspect of working in the styling industry has to be the opportunity to see some amazing homes and all the different styles of architecture that is on display around Australia. It still amazes me after 10 years that I get to see such a range of different homes and designs in one single area, very different to back home!

As our new Logistics Coordinator, what qualities and skills do you bring that will connect with our clients?

I believe I bring a unique perspective to the role, having worked on the flip side of scheduling the truck runs and coordinating the logistics. After having had the pleasure of working in our delivery team for around two years, I have built great relationships and rapport with our clients and have developed a great understanding of how to support them and deliver the best possible outcomes when any kind of problem arises. I believe that my knowledge and understanding of what our clients look for is a key skill for this role.

Outside the office, what’s a surprising or intriguing fact about you?

A surprising fact about me would be that I am a black belt in Karate and was a gold medallist in the UK Junior Karate Championships (back when I was 14 so am a bit rusty now).

Join us in warmly welcoming Sean to the showroom team!
